About Dr. Oscar Sotelo
Dr. Oscar Sotelo was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. After earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, he did his internship at Breckenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas. He served his country in United States Air Force, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon his return to the States, he completed his residency in dermatology and was board certified in 1975. Since 1977, he has served as a clinical associate professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas, teaching students and young doctors in the field of dermatology.
Dr. Sotelo’s specialty is the detection and treatment of skin cancers including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Since opening his practice, he’s treated more than 50,000 skin cancers. From simple moles to malignant melanoma, Dr. Sotelo can diagnose your problem and determine how to treat it quickly and effectively. He is one of the most capable dermatologists in the Rio Grande Valley.
